Book Reviews

  • "I think the book is a GREAT resource for kids and teens of all ages. You made it very clear on the importance of having a resume. Also, you made it clear that you don’t have to be involved in an actual job to have a resume. It is great how you incorporate almost every child job imaginable into a comprehensive way to create a resume. One suggestion would be to give all the things that should be included in a resume so people will have a general idea of where to start if there child isn’t academically inclined or doesn’t do sports or have a job. Also, I think a sample resume should be included for children interested in the arts, giving them a view of how to sell themselves to others. Overall, I think the book can definitely help anyone to perfect their resume. Good job, Ms. Kris, and I know there are great things to come for you and many doors will open because of this book!!"
Kyler G., age 15, Atlanta, GA
  • "Resumes for Children" is a book for adults to read and create resumes for their children. This book includes 22 real children's resumes, several sample letters, guides to references and areas to explore and an introduction which gives the basics of creating a resume. There are also 40 sample pages for notes and experimental resumes within the book. A resume, if written correctly, gives a good first impression and helps when competing for jobs. Your child 17 years and younger will greatly benefit from "Resumes for Children" because it provides a way to organize information about themselves that adults can relate to in resume form."

  • "What a wonderful and innovative way to teach and motivate young movers and shakers. Resumes for Children is destined to be a dynamic teaching tool for teachers and parents of elementary, junior, and high school age children. The sample resumes are great."

  • "Resumes for Children is for all young people who intend to make an impact on the world. The insightful look at various components of a child's resume is one of the first steps to success. Resumes for Children is a must read!"

Mr. William Blair, Counselor, Atlanta Public Schools
